The site also provides audio and video material on demand, making available both news and current affairs broadcasts and regular features. The website opens up the RTSI archives, by creating topic-based web pages. With this end in view, a system has been designed to enable users to access on-line material originally created for RSI and TSI.
Thanks to these efforts, it is possible for users to recover material that would othervise have been lost from view, enhancing the public service broadcaster’s special role of encouraging in-depth interest in a field normally characterised by the short lifespan of its products.
