Is the company that provides public service broadcasts in Switzerland. This service is called on to produce and broadcast radio and television programmes of equal quality in all the country’s official languages to promote reciprocal understanding, cohesion and exchange between the country’s regions as well as between its cultural and linguistic communities.

SRG SSR is the main Swiss company in the electronic media sector with some 6,000 employees. SRG SSR bouquet is national, multimedia and multilingual. It comprises seven television broadcasters and 16 radio networks in the four national languages (German, French, Italian and Romansch), as well as websites in a total of ten languages, as well as teletext services in Italian, German and French.

SRG SSR’s different outlets provide news bulletins, special services and areas dedicated to politics, culture, society and sport. Entertainment – in the form of films, sitcoms, radio dramas, shows and talk shows – is particularly important. SRG SSR’s channels can be received throughout the country, but programming is made primarily for audiences in the country's separate language regions: German-speaking Deutschschweiz, French-speaking Suisse romande, Italian-speaking Svizzera italiana and Romansch-speaking Svizra rumantscha. The service offered by Swissinfo/Swiss Radio International is aimed at both a Swiss and international audience.

SRG SSR is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the service of the community. It does not have any profit objective: most of its financing is ensured by revenue from television licenses and from commercial revenues. Any profits are re-invested in the public service.

SRG SSR is a national organisation with regional structures and has seven divisions in the four linguistic regions from which the radio and television programmes and the Internet content are born. The strategies, objectives and means of SRG SSR are directed towards achieving success on the Swiss media market, which is measured in terms of market share, penetration, profitability  and image.
