Situated in the city centre, the Palazzo dei Congressi convention centre is at once close to the heart of the city’s financial and recreational facilities as well as the civic park and lake. The convention centre is the ideal place to hold congresses and national and international events and is equipped with the most modern technical equipment.

In the Palazzo dei Congressi you will find: the Input Screening Rooms (Red, Blue and Green), Registration and On-Site Registration, an Information Desk, the Shop Stewards’ Room, the Internet Balcony, a wheelchair-accessible Internet Workplace, the Board Room, the INPUT 2007 Office, a Chicco d’Oro Café, the INPUT 2008 Stand, and the Auditorium for the Orientation and Opening Night Reception (Sunday 6th May 2007).

Il Ciani, situated in downtown Lugano on the Viale Cattaneo opposite the Palazzo dei Congressi, is a new congress structure. This historical building dates back to the 19th century and is located on a 4,000 square metre estate boasting century old trees. In the heart of the building is a courtyard that is ideal for just about any type of event thanks to the presence of a pyramid-shaped glass and metal roof, the decorative arches and beautiful wooden floor. It is surrounded by a series of rooms suitable for small meetings, exhibitions and conferences. All the meeting rooms benefit from natural sunlight.

In Il Ciani you will find: the Video Library, the Producers' and Authors' Lounge, a room for general meetings and independent producers meetings, as well as a refreshment area featuring both the Refectory and the Il Patio Café.

We have decided to hold the conference in two separate locations because Il Ciani is an interesting complement to the Palazzo dei Congressi – and not just from an architectural point of view (a historic building alongside the modern Palazzo dei Congressi). We would like Il Ciani to be a “meeting point”, an intimate place where delegates can meet, lunch and talk informally. In this way, the screenings in the Palazzo dei Congressi will not be disturbed by the “recreational” element of the conference. The two buildings are very close, across the road from one another.
